In 2008, Sixteenth Street decided to pursue accreditation by The Joint Commission. Our initial Joint Commission survey is scheduled for October 2009. Accreditation by The Joint Commission assures that an organization's level of performance meets stringent standards for patient safety and high quality care. It is assumed that if an organization does the right things and does them well, there is a strong likelihood that its patients will experience good outcomes. In calendar year 2008, Sixteenth Street saw more than 27,000 patients in total, at more than 140,000 individual appointments. These patients were 85% Hispanic, 9% White, 2% Asian, 3% African American and 1% unreported or other. 60% reported incomes below 100% of the federal poverty level and more than 36% had no health insurance. Sixty-five percent were best served in a language other than English. Click on a link below to view past Annual Reports.
